Electrolytic manganese metal (EMM) is a high-purity form of manganese that is produced by electrolysis. Manganese ore is first converted into manganese dioxide, which is then dissolved in sulfuric acid to produce a manganese sulfate solution. This solution is then subjected to electrolysis, which separates the manganese from the sulfate solution and deposits it as a high-purity metal on the cathode.
