DESCRIPTION
Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel shavings, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Widely used in stealmaking, non-ferrous metal casting and other industries. It is a fine deoxidiser and alloying agent and also an inoculant in nodular cast iron. It is greatly. used as a reductant in silicon iron melting.
