Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel chips, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelting in liquid iron with the silicon reduced by the electric furnace at a high temperature of 1500-1800 degrees. It is an important alloy variety in the smelting industry.
