DESCRIPTION
China Ferrosilicon Alloy is an alloy of iron and silicon, and the average content of silicon is between 15% and 90% by weight. It contains a high percentage of iron silicide. Ferrosilicon is produced by reducing silica or sand with coke in the presence of iron. A typical source of iron is scrap iron or abrasive chips.
China Ferrosilicon Alloy with a silicon content of around 15% is made in blast furnaces lined with acid refractory bricks. Ferrosilicon, which has a higher silicon content, is produced in an electric arc furnace. Common formulations on the market are ferrosilicon containing 15%, 45%, 75% and 90% silicon.
